What our customers are saying
The quality color and features are great. Can already start to see a bit of patina woudl reccomend to people who have a lot and are trying to become a minimalist.
Beautiful wallet , very good quality leather and the finish is exceptional. Stitching, cuts and points of adhesion are very clean and the card mechanism feels very expensive. Great product
I am amazed, amazing leather work. The craftsmanship is top-notch! The leather looks beautiful and has a wonderful, rich smell. Pularys has truly excelled in both craftsmanship and quality. I think the Porter had the most beautiful leather work.
Unfortunately, the main card ejection mechanism isn’t of the best quality. It doesn’t feel as smooth and effortless as the one in Secrid wallets. I suppose it’s difficult to match Secrid’s performance, since they’ve patented their own invention.
The thing with the porter model is that its probably the most practical model of them all and also compared to other brands. It really has a full on cash note pocket just like traditional wallets, which i like.
The issue with the porter is that the button is in the middle, making the leather misaligned and unsymmetrical when the wallet is filled with cash. Meaning, because of the button being in the middle, there is a lot of play in the leather making it feel flimsy, even though it is of the highest quality and craftsmanship. This also does that the trigger of the card ejecton unit gets hard to reach with one finger, same hand holding the wallet. You can of course use both hands to operate it. I think pularys should try to experiment with a strap/button design on the side instead of a button in the middle. Just like the hiker model. It gives the leather more stability since the strap/button combination stretches the leather to keep its position and alignment to the whole wallet/card ejector unit. (Metal frame).
One thing Pularys has done better with their ejector unit is the inclusion of rubber inner linings. These help keep the cards securely in place so they don’t fall out. While no competitor I’ve tried has had issues with cards falling out, the rubber lining does add a more premium and “heavy” feel. However, that’s probably also why it doesn’t slide as smoothly.
The mechanism feels smooth with up to three cards, but beyond that, the trigger becomes too stiff and hard to engage.
I had a really hard time deciding whether to keep the Secrid wallet I ordered at the same time or to switch fully to Pularys. (I’m a long-time Secrid user.) In the end, Pularys wins in terms of practicality and offering a truly usable wallet. The Secrid can feel a bit tedious or fiddly when handling cash notes, which is exactly why I wanted to give Pularys a try — to have a small, slim wallet that actually works well for daily use.
The problem is, most customers who buy a wallet like this do so mainly because of the card ejector unit. Otherwise, there are many other slim-format wallets to choose from. And if the ejector mechanism doesn’t perform as smoothly as expected, then even the most beautiful leather and highest-quality craftsmanship won’t matter as much.
I truly believe that if you upgrade the ejector mechanism to be as smooth and reliable as Secrid’s, you’ll dominate the market. I really hope you do — you deserve all the recognition in this space. Your passion is clearly visible in the quality and attention to detail. It really shows. All in all, its a really good wallet i can recommend, however if you use cards more than cash, then try considering secrid wallets.
I wish i could work for pularys team to really perfect their wallet to perfection. Its just the small things that needs a bit more attention, having the competition in mind. I really think pularys can take over the whole market if they just perfect it, so people have no other reasons to choose secrid instead. Secrid has their own issues as well, such as not being the most practical when it comes to cash notes and being an easy handled wallet. But one thing they have perfected is the ejection mechanism, even then theirs also get stuck sometimes…. To summarise, pularys has done everything better than secrid except from the card ejector. And i mean everything, everything from leather quality, the smell of the leather, the craftmanship, practically, areas of use, leather quality, thought out design. Pularys, i would love to give you more feedback, if you would like to, just hit me up and i will gladly share my thoughts.
